Green Season pricing comes early at Cape Tribulation Resort & Spa.

Ocean Hotels and Tourism have brought forward the low season pricing for Cape Tribulation Resort & Spa.  All new bookings from this point forward will be at the lower rate.

These low season rates are normally only valid during the green season and whilst the green season itself is still a few months away, we wanted to give our customers every opportunity to experience the beauty of Cape Tribulation.

The green season is really the best time to visit the rainforest as this is when the flora and fauna are at their most vibrant and provides guests the greatest opportunities to see animals when they are most active.  Traditionally people have avoided travelling to Cape Tribulation over this period and in doing so have missed out on the best the region has to offer.

• Next year’s CLIPSAL Adelaide have been scheduled for 19-22 March 2009. This is the peak time for Adelaide hotels and most have minimum 4 night stay and charge full rack rate.

Changes & Refurbishment

Aboriginal Sacred Sites Tour

• The Aboriginal Sacred Sites & Culture Tour will now only operate for groups with a minimum of 10 paying passengers.

Holiday Inn Cairns

• Holiday Inn Cairns is on the final stages of its refurbishment. It is scheduled to be completed by early October.

Novotel St Kilda

• Novotel St Kilda’s foyer will be undergoing refurbishment and is expected to be completed by the end of October.

Mercure Hotel Melbourne

• Mercure Hotel Melbourne will commence a minor refurbishment on the 1st September and is expected to be completed on 17 December 2008.

Novotel Canberra

• Novotel Canberra will be undergoing refurbishment. The refurbishment will include an additional 90 new rooms and also refurbishment of the existing 197 rooms.
• The schedule has begun and is expected to be completed in September 2009

Sofitel Cairns Reef Casino

• A water feature will be constructed externally to the Sofitel Cairns Reef Casino.
• The work is scheduled to begin 18th September and be completed prior to Christmas.

Palm Terrace

• The Palm Terrace Hotel will close effective immediately, and as a result, they will no longer be accepting any reservations from the 30 August 2008.
• The Palm Terrace is scheduled to undergo a complete enhancement to all guest rooms with a planned re-launch for the third quarter of 2010.

The Cairns International Hotel

• The Cairns International Hotel will become The Sebel Cairns
• The re-branding will take place in October 08, following the successful refurbishment and enhancement program of the hotel.

Silky Oaks Lodge

• For the first time, children are now welcome at Silky Oaks Lodge. Children 12 years and under stay free when using existing bedding and one child per paying adult eats breakfast free at the buffet restaurant

The Mercure Welcome & The Swanston Hotel Melbourne, Grand Mercure

• Lifts Upgrade at the Mercure Hotel Welcome in June 09
• Lifts Upgrade at The Swanston Hotel, Grand Mercure in September 08

Airporter Bus Service

• As from close of business day 31st August 2008, The Airporter Shuttle Bus Pty. Ltd. will cease to be the operator at the Hobart Airport.
• The new contractor will be Tasmanian Redline Coaches, which will be honouring all existing bookings.
• We will advise you should there be any bookings affected.

• From 1st September 2008 The Rydges Capricorn Resort will return to its original brand and known as Capricorn Resort Yeppoon
• Rydges Hotels and Resorts will continue to manage the resort, staff, distribution and sales.

• The Aurora Group will take ownership of this hotel from September 2008.
